Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet is pleased to announce that the State of Illinois’ long-term care Ombudsman Program will officially join the agency as of April 1, 2016. This program is part of the Agency’s Aging and Disability Services division and serves clients in Kankakee, Will, and Grundy Counties.
The goal of this program is to protect and promote the rights and quality of life for those who reside in long-term care. Staff and volunteers in the Ombudsman Program are advocates who seek to resolve complaints on behalf of individuals who receive long-term care services. Program team members will also assure that the interests of residents are represented to policymakers and governmental agencies.
Ombudsman services are confidential and free. Locally please call 815-932-1921 for more information; or call the Illinois Department on Aging Helpline at 1-800-252-8966. Faxes for the program can be sent to 815-933-4601.
