Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet is pleased to announce that the Will County “Project Protect” program will officially join the agency as of January 1, 2017. This program is part of the Agency’s Counseling division and serves clients throughout Will County.
The Illinois Supreme Court mandates all parents and guardians involved in a divorce, custody, visitation or paternity dispute, where children under the age of 18 are involved, attend a parenting class. The purpose of Project Protect is to lessen the negative emotional impact of the process on the children, and to maximize the children’s healthy psychological and social development. Each class lasts four hours and are offered in a variety of locations throughout the county. Project Protect is also offered in Spanish.
Project Protect is perfectly aligned with Catholic Charities’ mission to help those in need. This program provides compassionate and professional care to strengthen and support families during a difficult transition.
