Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet received a $163,700 grant through the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership (DCTP) Immediate Intervention grant to help provide support to those who are experiencing housing insecurity in the community. The DCTP awarded nearly $1.3 million to 18 DuPage County not-for-profit organizations.
Catholic Charities’ mission is to serve people in need and call others of good will to do the same.
Having access to safe and affordable shelter is a basic human need that, all too often, is out of reach for our neighbors. The devastating results of housing instability impact our entire community. The funding we have received from the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership will help provide shelter/housing to individuals and families who are struggling and working toward self-sufficiency.
About the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership: The DuPage Community Transformation Partnership (DCTP) – a $10 million grant program between DuPage County and DuPage Foundation – supports social service not-for-profit organizations helping DuPage County residents in the areas of food insecurity, housing instability, mental health, and substance abuse. In 2022, the County Board voted to execute an agreement to allocate $10.6 million to DuPage Foundation in federal funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for the grant program. The Foundation received $600,000 to administer the program and disburse the ARPA funds on behalf of the County. To date, more than $6.2 million has been awarded in Immediate Intervention and Transformational grants. A complete list of grantees to date is located here. Additional grant opportunities will be offered in 2024. The DCTP recently earned a 2023 national achievement award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for this collaboration between DuPage County and DuPage Foundation.
