Dear Friends,
For over a decade, Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Joliet has been blessed with the leadership of Mr. Glenn Van Cura. With a heart full of gratitude for his excellent service, today I am announcing that Mr. Van Cura will be resigning his position as Executive Director in early 2021. He has accepted a position with Kwangdong University in the Republic of Korea as a professor in the International Relations and Education Institute department.
Glenn Van Cura was appointed as the head of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Joliet by then-Bishop J. Peter Sartain in September 2010, after previously serving in the Archdiocese of Chicago, as well as having prior experience with the Peace Corps and private sector executive leadership.
The period for Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Joliet under Glenn’s tenure will be marked by extraordinary growth and successful ministry. Catholic Charities benefits from thousands of volunteers and staff serving tens of thousands of clients across all seven counties that make up the Diocese of Joliet.
We will miss his presence and leadership. He is accompanied not only by our heartfelt gratitude, but also our good wishes and prayers as he embarks on this new endeavor.
May God bless him as he takes these next steps.
Paz y bien,
Most Reverend Ronald A. Hicks
Bishop of Joliet
