Honor a loved one on All Souls’ Day
On All Souls’ Day, let’s pray for our faithful departed loved ones.
Eternal rest, grant them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
All Souls’ Day is a special day set aside to honor those who we have lost. Throughout our lives, we must sadly say goodbye to dearly loved relatives and friends. Although it is always painful to lose a loved one, we can continue their legacies by honoring them in special ways.
As a friend of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet, we know that you are a kind and compassionate individual. It’s likely that you have had wonderful influences in your life who helped shape the person you are today. Perhaps a loved one provided great examples of how to live with empathy and generosity toward others.
Consider those you have lost over the years. Imagine how proud they would be to know that they helped inspire you to care for the needy.
In honor of All Souls’ Day, Catholic Charities is once again providing an opportunity to remember our dearly departed loved ones by making a difference in the lives of our neighbors who are struggling and reaching out for help. Please consider making a donation to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet in the name of someone special to continue their legacy of goodwill.
Throughout the past year, we have been praying for all those who you asked us to remember at last year’s All Souls’ mass. Please send us the names of those you wish us to remember throughout this year.
Also, you are invited to a special mass at 4:00 PM on November 2, 2016 at the Blanchette Catholic Center (16555 Weber Rd, Crest Hill, IL 60403) where those you have lost will be celebrated. Please include the names of those you wish to be honored at the mass in the envelope provided. All names will be read just before mass begins.
