Hurricane Relief Update
To those looking to help support the victims of Hurricane Harvey,
Catholic Charities USA (CC-USA) represents all local Catholic Charities nationwide when disaster strikes and CC-USA works closely with regional Catholic Charities affiliates experiencing local disaster.
Because CC-USA is the best qualified agency to direct funding to the local Catholic Charities dealing with the victims of the storm, we are asking that if you wish to make an online donation you click the link below.
If you prefer to mail in your donation to help storm victims, please send it to:
PO Box 17066
Baltimore, MD 21297-1066 (please mark “Hurricane Harvey” in the memo line of the check)
Over the past four years Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet has been the recipient of CC-USA disaster relief funding when two separate tornedos struck Coal City and when the diocese experienced catastrophic flooding in Kankakee and Watseka.
Additionally, Bishop Conlon will be asking pastors to hold a second collection to help those suffering from the storm’s impact. Those funds will be also directed to CC-USA so that your donations can be spread throughout the areas of greatest need.
We are in contact with our colleagues at CC-USA and the those helping with relief efforts through Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston offices daily. If things change or if additional needs present, we will let you know.
We are certain that your thoughts and prayers are with those suffering great loss and hardship in Texas and all along the gulf coast. May God bless you for your generosity.
Please contact Kathleen (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have questions.
