Kankakee: Telephone Reassurance Program
Kankakee: Don’t we all appreciate the comfort that comes from a
friendly voice on the other end of the phone? With the Telephone Reassurance Program we provide you or your loved one that reassurance through a simple and brief phone call however many times a week you prefer.
Trained volunteers make friendly telephone calls to older adults who are isolated, reside alone, or just need encouragement or reminders throughout the day.
Benefits include increased socialization, decreased isolation, and the peace of mind that having someone familiar checking in can bring. Callers can remind seniors to take medications, eat a home delivered meal or warm a frozen one, and in some cases provide linkage to additional services that can assist.
If you are interested in receiving a friendly telephone call, would like to refer someone else, or would like to become a volunteer please contact Edward Howe at 815-933-7791, extension 9923 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire.
