The Stress-Busting program is designed to improve the quality of life for family caregivers of persons with dementia by helping them manage their stress and cope better with their lives.
Caregivers who have participated have reported significantly lowered stress, depression and anxiety, as well as improvement in their ability to relax and manage stress and an increase in their self-esteem.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
¨ Getting Started/Technique: Relaxation Breathing
¨ Stress: Effects on Mind, body, and Spirit/Technique: Meditation
¨ Caregiver Stress & Relaxation/Technique: Imagery
¨ Challenging Behaviors of People with Dementia/Technique: Hand Massage
¨ Grief, Loss, & Depression/Technique: Art Therapy
¨ Coping with Stress/Technique: Aromatherapy
¨ Positive Thinking/Technique Journaling
¨ Taking of Yourself: Healthy Living/Technique Music Therapy
¨ Choosing A Path to Wellness
