I’m Sherry Anicich the School Social Worker for Catholic Charities. My role is to support the social, emotional, and academic well-being of our students and their families. I am dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Governors State University and have 20 years of experience working with children and families in various settings. My background includes working in mental health, crisis intervention, family counseling, individual counseling, grief work and working with children and adolescence which has equipped me with the skills to address a wide range of challenges that students might face. In my role, I work closely with students, parents, and teachers to provide counseling, develop individualized support plans, and connect families with community resources. My goal is to empower students to overcome obstacles and develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and personally. Outside of my professional work, I am passionate about gardening, community service, reading and I enjoy going for walks with my two puppies. I am blessed to be a part of Catholic Charites and enjoy working with all the children I help.
